Essential Functions:

As a Powder Coater you will work under the direct supervision of a Powder Coater Trainer or Supervisor assuming responsibility for executing powder coating processes and equipment maintenance. You will collaborate with a trainer who will provide guidance and support throughout your tasks. The key responsibilities include:
1. Perform powder coating operations: Execute all processes techniques and equipment use related to powder coating under the guidance of a trainer. This encompasses substrate preparation masking hanging powder coating inspection and packing of parts using various hand tools.
2. Collaborate with trainer: Work closely with the trainer to inspect coated parts and receive valuable feedback for continuous improvement.
3. Maintain powder coating equipment: Ensure the proper functioning of powder coating equipment by performing maintenance tasks. Seek guidance and solutions from the Trainer/Supervisor for troubleshooting problem areas.
4. Ensure efficient material handling: Move parts to be painted and after painting utilizing a pallet jack and/or forklift if authorized and trained.
5. Maintain cleanliness: Clean the work area thoroughly once the painting process is completed.
6. Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance: Adhere to safety protocols by maintaining and utilizing personal protective equipment including coveralls and respirators.
Education /Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent is required. No prior experience is necessary; we will provide on-the-job training.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
• Mechanical aptitude: Willingness to learn and develop skills in powder coating equipment systems and tools.
• Production processes understanding: Familiarity with production processes quality control hanging masking and other techniques for maximizing effective coating of finished goods a plus.
• Powder coating techniques: Willingness to learn various powder coating techniques and operation of powder coating equipment.
• Equipment maintenance skills: Ability to perform routine operator maintenance to ensure the proper and safe operation of powder coating equipment and systems. Proficient in performing maintenance tasks to maintain optimal operational levels.
• Safety awareness: Understanding of safety requirements for powder coating operations including familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Technical Data Sheets (TDS).
• Physical requirements: Must be able to lift a minimum of 55 lbs. Frequent lifting bending and turning are required. Successfully pass the required physical exams to wear a respirator.
