Job Description | Electronic Assembly Technician

Position Summary:

The electronic assembly technician plays an essential role in assembling and repairing electronic components. This position requires precision attention to detail and a strong understanding of soldering techniques to ensure high-quality results. The technician will work closely with engineers and other team members to meet production standards and deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform soldering tasks on electronic components and circuit boards
  • Inspect and test solder joints to ensure quality and reliability 
  • Repair and rework defective components and boards
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions processes and procedures
  • Maintain and calibrate soldering equipment
  • Collaborate with engineers to resolve technical issues
  • Document processes and product data accurately

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in soldering or electronics preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of soldering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination

Technical Skills & Certifications | Preferred (Not Required)

  • Proficiency in both through-hole and SMT including working with lead-free solder
  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 Certifications

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods perform detailed repetitive work and lift up to 25 lbs.

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with component identification and ESD procedures
