Summary

The Energy Efficiency Technician will work in the field providing energy efficiency services to residential commercial and multifamily customers. This will include the installation of LED lightbulbs high efficiency showerheads faucet aerators water heater tank and pipe insulation seal ducts install smart thermostats caulk windows install attic insulation and evaporative coolers. The Technician performs advanced diagnostic testing using a Blower Door Duct Blaster CO Detector Gas Leak Detector and visual inspection. The Efficiency Technician must explain all testing and services to the customer perform high quality work take detailed notes including photos and accurately complete all testing and documentation. Based on the results of the testing the Efficiency Technician will perform the recommended services including Air Sealing Attic Insulation Duct Efficiency Lighting and Water Conservation for the customer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; advanced education preferred.
• Successful work experience in related field (construction specialty trade)
• Ability to work with customers of various backgrounds and life conditions
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and detail oriented.
• Self-motivated proactive and able to self-direct.
• Computer and technology proficiency. 
• Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Employment may require a satisfactory criminal record and motor vehicle record search.
• Employment may require a drug and alcohol screening.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Essential Functions

• Work in homes and businesses to help customer save energy.
• Provide high-quality installation of energy saving equipment. 
• Document work performed and other data.
• Prepare daily weekly and monthly reports of work performed. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

The Technician is required to meet daily physical demands. These include but are not limited to standing for long periods of time walking longer than average distances and possess the ability to carry and lift equipment up to 50 pounds. In addition the Technician will be required to work in outdoor weather conditions.

Schedule

The office is open Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM except for recognized holidays. The Technician requires a minimum of a 40-hour work week as determined with supervisor to allow the employee to fulfill the assigned duties and responsibilities. Certain functions of the position require travel weekend and evening hours work schedules.
